[no art link is available, however, since he was one of my earliest "artist influencers" ~ outside of my school teachers whose names are long forgotten ~ I pay respect here ~ especially since he was also known to dress "in full drag" in public when such things got folk arrested. . .

even now, I can recall spending hours at a time reverently staring at the 6'- 8' images he'd painted [one on each wall] in my family dinning room of the most unutterably beautiful, blue-black-ebony skinned Afrikan King and Queen that I've ever seen, even today -- and her hair was actually painted as flowing flames-

I'd like to think that my image in the "When The Rainbow is NOT Enough" mural and print  [1978-79] - which uses the profile of our flawless Sudanese] Sistah, Iman - was my reverent tribute to his artistic genius, and particularly, his Afrikan Queen image . . . .
